Bookachef’s guide to Manchester Christmas Markets 2025

It wouldn’t be winter in the North West without the twinkle of the Manchester Christmas Markets. The city transforms into a festive wonderland each November and December, filling its streets with the scents of mulled wine, sizzling bratwurst, and freshly baked treats.

The markets run from November 7 to December 22, 2025. Whether you’re here to feast, shop, or snap, Bookachef has rounded up the must-visit stalls and foodie finds at this year’s Manchester Christmas Markets:

The German Pancake House

Start your festive foodie journey with something sweet. The German Pancake House serves up freshly made waffles and pancakes piled high with toppings - think warm Nutella, strawberries, cream, or classic cinnamon sugar.

Porky Pig’s Yorkshire Pudding Wraps

A Manchester must, especially for first-time visitors. Porky Pig’s Yorkshire pudding wrap is stuffed with roast turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce, and has become a northern icon. Deliciously messy, gloriously festive, and absolutely worth queuing for.

The Great Northern Cheese Co.

For the cheese lovers (and let’s face it, that’s all of us), this stall is heaven. From mature cheddar truffles to chilli-infused wedges and gooey baked camembert, every sample is Christmas indulgence. Pair it with a cup of mulled wine and you’ve got festive perfection.

Wrap Up

One of this year’s most exciting additions, Wrap Up will be serving a brand new menu of loaded hash brands - crispy, golden, and piled high with festive toppings. From bacon and brie to spicy chorizo, it’s hearty street food designed to warm your hands and your feed.

The Witch House

A Christmas Market classic, The Witch House is where you’ll fund authentic German bratwurst and currywurst, cooked to perfection and served with all the trimmings. It’s smoky, savoury and unmissable.

Prefer to Stay Cosy? Warm Up in a Nearby Pub

If the cold gets too much (Manchester in December can be brisk), there are plenty of cosy pubs just a short stroll from the markets where you can thaw out by the fire with a pint or a hearty meal.

Founders Hall

Just around the corner from the markets, Founders Hall combines modern comfort with historic charm. Grab a mulled wine or local craft beer and settle in under the soft glow of fairy lights.

The Wharf

A little further out in Castlefield but well worth the wander. This gastro pub is known for its excellent seasonal menu, open fires, and canal-side views. Ideal for a long lunch or evening wind-down after a festive day.

The Briton’s Protection

One of Manchester’s oldest pubs, The Briton’s Protection on Great Bridgewater Street is famed for its open fires, snug rooms, and a huge whisky selection. A true winter hideaway, and just minutes from the markets.
